As of Wednesday, Samsung officially started sending out invitations to media for the United States “leg” of the Galaxy Note 2 World Tour, which will be held on October 24 in New York City. Images of these invites had leaked out not too long ago, all but confirming the Galaxy Note 2’s U.S. launch due to the presence of an S Pen on the invitation design.

Now we can say it’s official, as the Galaxy Note 2 prepares to debut stateside just a tad less than two weeks from now.

Regarding the Galaxy Note 2’s actual release date, it’s mostly anybody’s guess. We predict it shouldn’t be that long after the unveiling in New York, perhaps sometime in late October or early November. A few days ago, T-Mobile announced its Galaxy Note 2 variantwith a press image that showed the date “November 15” on the phablet’s display.

When asked to respond to this possibility, T-Mobile said that the device would be released this fall, which could technically mean December 20 at the latest. This sounds a little too far removed from the launch date, but different carriers typically have different release dates anyway. In any case, release dates for T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and U.S. Cellular should all become public knowledge by the 24th.

The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-running Galaxy Note 2 will sport a 5.5-inch HD screen with 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution, 4G LTE connectivity to go with a quad-core Exynos CPU, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2 GB RAM and a new, improved version of the trademark S Pen stylus.
