Samsung Galaxy Camera to be Released in Two Delicious New Flavors

The jury is still out on the Samsung Galaxy Camera, which the South Korean company announced at IFA 2012 late last month. It is, for the most part, a very interesting device, but it may not have the same market as, say, a Galaxy S3 smartphone or Galaxy Note 2 phablet.

Still, you have to commend Samsung for coming up with an equally interesting picking of colors. The basic white flavor is available for those who don’t really care for a flashy-looking device, but quirkier buyers may find the orange or pink Galaxy Camerato their liking.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any other conservative flavors yet for the camera; it doesn’t look like Samsung has plans of releasing blue, black or brown variants. On the other hand, the colors tentatively announced for the Galaxy Camera are just that – tentative. If feedback is mostly positive, then the choices of color will be white, pink and orange.

If not, that’s when Samsung might opt for more “normal” color choices.

The Galaxy Camera’s release date is still unknown, but specs were announced when the device was announced at IFA 2012. It will come with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, a 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 3G and 4G support, 1,650 mAh battery and 4.8-inch HD screen.

Except for the battery, these are all very similar specs to the Galaxy S3. The camera itself is rated at 16.3 megapixels; a 21x optical zoom and a 23mm equivalent f/2.8 lens are also part of the package.
