The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition was announced late last week as the newest Corvette variant. And you’ll have to act quickly once the car gets released later this year – Chevy will be making only 500 examples of the ridiculously fast C7.R Edition.

The Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition comes with the optional Z07 performance pack, allowing the car’s 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 engine to crank out 650 horsepower. Whether making its way through turns or going on straight parts of the track, the C7.R Edition should make for an exhilarating drive. And it’s not just because of the high-powered engine and the estimated 0-60 mph time of less than 3 seconds (for the automatic version) – the C7.R Edition also comes with magnetic ride control suspension, an electronic limited slip differential, and traction control.

Chevrolet will be offering the car in just two color options – yellow and black – but the list of special features and design elements is quite extensive. These include a serial-based VIN, Michelin PS Cup 2 tires, carbon ceramic brakes from Brembo, carbon fiber ground effects, Jet Black upholstery with suede microfiber accents, and a whole lot more. The C7.R Edition is based on Chevrolet’s C7.R race car, which explains the long and astounding list of customizations.

“Corvette Racing’s legacy and technology were significant influences on the development of the Corvette Z06 and the new C7.R Edition honors the direct link between the racecar and the production model,” said Corvette marketing manager Harlan Charles in a statement.

Pricing on the Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition has not been announced, but some expect it to be priced around $100,000 once it arrives at dealerships late this summer.
