Verizon’s Black Friday Specials for 2015 – Big Savings from Big Red

Black Friday shoppers may only be focusing on the retailers – Walmart, Best Buy, Newegg, and all the others fall into the “usual suspects” category for customers who want to save money this week and kick off their holiday shopping the right way.

Black Friday shoppers may only be focusing on the retailers – Walmart, Best Buy, Newegg, and all the others fall into the “usual suspects” category for customers who want to save money this week and kick off their holiday shopping the right way. But carriers get into the fun as well – Verizon Wireless has a ton of Black Friday 2015 deals that might interest you, so you might want to give some consideration to Big Red’s deals for the current shopping week.

Earlier in the week, Verizon released its list of Black Friday 2015 deals, enumerating all of the specials that will be available at its carrier stores or on its online store. And the best deal we can see, even if it isn’t for a tangible product per se, is the $500 credit it is giving to customers who switch from one carrier to Verizon, and trade in their phone while doing so. This is a trade-in deal, so you’ll need to make sure your old phone is still “qualifying,” meaning in good condition or better, so you can carry out the trade-in without a hitch.

How does this work? Actually, the true trade-in credit will be $300 for those who trade in select (emphasis on select) phones from their old carriers, while an additional $200 off will apply to the cost of select Verizon phones. Yes, “select” is the operative word here, but if you read the fine print and everything checks out, you could pay as low as $3 a month for devices like the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Verizon-branded products are also selling for lower prices as part of Verizon’s Black Friday 2015 campaign. Its Ellipsis 10-inch tablet now costs $49.99 with a two-year contract, down $149 off the original price tag. The Droid Turbo 2, in addition, will be available for only $5.16 a month over 24 months for “qualified” customers. Verizon, as expected, is focusing on the Motorola-made Droid Turbo 2’s shatterproof screen, its main selling point that got a lot of ink when the device was first unveiled.

What other Verizon-sold items are available on the cheap on Black Friday? The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge costs just $7.16 a month over 24 months for the same “qualified” customers, while the Galaxy S6, as stated above, costs $3.16 a month. And if you’re in the market for a fitness band, the Fitbit Charge Wireless Activity Wristband will set you back by $89.99 instead of the usual $129.99. But you don’t have to worry if you’ll miss out on all those deals, as Verizon has some that are valid from Black Friday through Sunday, November 29.

For example, the LG V10 smartphone will sell for $11.33/month on a 24-month plan, while the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will have a monthly plan cost of $15.33. The Galaxy Note 5, in addition, will go for just $12.33 a month. Buyers looking for peripherals will be able to get discounts off the Nest Cam Wi-Fi video camera ($169.99, $30 off) and the Mophie Powerstation 4000 ($39.99, $40 off). And if you want a high-quality set of headphones, try the Beats Solo Wireless On-Ear Headphones, as Verizon will have them selling for $249.99, or $50 off full pricing.
