The rumor mill for the iPad Mini is easily the most animated one at the moment, and for good reason. While we’ve seen various component leaks that already give us a good picture of how the cut-size tablet looks like, that doesn’t remove too much from the fact that this is an all-new product from Apple.

At the very least, this element gives the new device a suitable air of mystery that something like the highly-expected iPhone 5 didn’t quite have.

One of the latest rumors about the expected 7.85-inch tablet comes by way of Topeka Capital Markets’ Brian White. In a research note, the analyst said “Apple did not skimp on the aesthetics” of the new device, and that it could even “outshine” the third-generation iPad in terms of its “feel.”

White didn’t go into the details, but it’s possible that the iPad Mini’s size had something to do with this. It would be just under two inches smaller than the full-size iPad, which could make for an easier-to-handle package.

The clock is already ticking down to the rumored date for the Apple event, where the unveiling of the iPad Mini is expected to take place. Reports from Apple component suppliers in Asia suggest that the manufacturing of the displays has already been ongoing for a while, and that Foxconn’s Brazilian facilities are already cranking final production unitsoff the assembly line.

Meanwhile, according to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has already ordered 10 million unitsfor this quarter, hinting at a massive success for the device when it finally hits the market.
